I need to get some new pictures on to my computer (any day now...), but for today I will have to be content with one of my favourites... It was taken last year at our friends' wedding in Pennsylvania. They got married on our first wedding anniversary at this amazing hotel called Sky Top, which looked exactly like the location of The Shining...thankfully not a Jack Nicholson in sight. I love this picture.
So, Arcade Fire. Amazing. As if it would be anything else, right? We were two rows from the front, but I gradually lost all members of my party as it got a little crazy. They played lots of stuff from Funeral which sent the crowd into a frenzy - cue crowd surfing. Sometimes I think I'm getting a little old for all that stuff, but then I stand at the back and feel frustrated that I'm not in the thick of it. The band were incredible, as always. I love the fact that they all take it in turns to play different instruments, so on one song Regine will sing and play the accordion, and on the next she'll be on drums. Win's voice was incredible live, and his comments to the crowd about how the atmosphere felt like a library had the desired effect. If you ever get the chance, you really should try to see this band, or even just buy the albums...Funeral and Neon Bible. Without sounding like a cliche, it really is such inspirational music which truly stirs the heart.
We've got through a couple of our DVDs...Everyone Says I Love You, which G hated but I thought was ok....Crimes and Misdemeanours which we both thought was fantastic...and The Purple Rose of Cairo which I loved, especially for all the fantastic 30s art design.
Off to my photography class tonight. Back in the darkroom again.
